“Bear Season” Spirit Days

Time to show that school spirit, Bears! Show off your favorite team or sport, favorite book character, and so much more good cheer with these fun dates during next week’s BEAR SEASON!


Attraction Books Are Coming!!

The PTO is selling Attraction Books to raise funds that will go directly into our school to help us make a difference in the children’s lives.  In addition to community events, assemblies, teacher appreciation, after school programs and classroom donations, our Attraction Books fundraiser provides equipment and technology not funded by the county that help our children succeed.  The Attractions Dining and Value Guide has also been the premier way to save money sixteen years running.  Each edition contains hundreds of buy one, get one free coupons to the best places in Stafford/Fredericksburg (other locations available online).  Coupons are valid now through December 31, 2019.  The books are $25 each and make great holiday gifts.  There is a sample book in the front office with this year’s edition now including more merchants from North Stafford such as: SweetFrog, Zibibbo 73, Pancho Villa, McDonalds, Buffalo Wild Wings, Outback and so much more.  Order envelopes will be sent home soon and sales will be ongoing through October 15th.  Orders will be filled on October 8th and 15th. Charleston Wrap Fundraiser

Our Charleston Wrap fundraising packets are heading to your home this week!  This fundraiser will be running from September 12th through the 26th. Items will arrive in early November just in time for the holidays, so this is a great chance to start that Christmas shopping. Fund raised go directly into our school to help us make a difference in our children’s lives.  We use these funds to provide everything from community events, assemblies, and after school programs to equipment and technology as well!

How can you help? Share the catalog with your friends and family! Out-of-towners can shop too after you register your child online.  Your child will earn some fun prizes along the way!

PTO One-Hour Pledge

We want this to be the best year yet at Moncure! We are asking busy parents to pledge just one hour a semester to help with just about anything.  More time is always appreciated too. The PTO is very excited to offer many new programs and events this year. We can’t provide all these without the help of the parents. Please join our Moncure Manpower Facebook page ( to find out when we need help. We’ll post there when we need help at school and jobs you can help with from home.

Please consider volunteering with us this year. The PTO will have workdays in the PTO room every Wednesday from 9am-12pm. If you are able to come for an hour or two, please join us! We have plenty of room and lots to keep you busy. We’re looking forward to getting to know more of the Moncure kids and families this year!


The Moncure Fall Clothing Sale Registration is Open!

Mark your calendars for our Fall Clothing Sale October 13th.  Registration is open now!  Get a head start entering your items.  If you have registered before for our online inventory system, sign into your account and click on “register for upcoming sale” to begin adding items to your inventory.  If you are new, you can sign-up for the upcoming sale.  Please go to the Moncure Clothing Sale website at  Also check our Facebook page at Moncure Consignment Sale for updates and opportunities to win a spending voucher.

Want to shop the pre-sale?  We need volunteers!  We appreciate our volunteers, so they get to shop a day early and earn an extra 10-15% on their sales.  Not bad for a quick 2-hour shift.  Volunteer shifts will be posted on the Clothing Sale website on September 22nd at 10:00am.  Sign-up early to get the time slot and job you want.  We need your help for another successful sale!  We are continuing to allow our volunteers to bring their spouses and children to the Volunteer Pre-Sale on Friday, October 12th from 8pm until 10pm.  If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]


Spirit Day at Sweet Frog

Mark your calendar now for our first Moncure Spirit Night! Join us at the Stafford Sweet Frog on Monday, September 17th! It’s happening all day long too! Make sure that your student remembers to put their name and classroom in the box. The class that has the most students come will get a special treat!!


Bagels and Bye-Bye

After you drop off your children and they’re off exploring their new classrooms, please join us in the cafeteria for breakfast at 9:15am.  You will meet other Moncure parents and reconnect with friends after a long summer.  This is our first general meeting of the year and you can learn more about the PTO and our plans for the upcoming school year.  We know you are all very busy, so it’s a quick meeting.

2018/2019 Class Placement Notifications on ParentVUE

Class placements will be available on ParentVUE after 7:00 PM on Wednesday, August 29th. ParentVUE is an account that will follow your student(s) throughout their time with Stafford County Public Schools. While we do not post grades on ParentVUE at the elementary level, as your child(ren) reach middle school and high school you will be able to access assignments and quarter grades. For those of you who have not already enrolled in ParentVUE, please look for an activation key with directions to arrive in the mail during the second week of August. Parents are only assigned ONE ParentVUE account that will display all of their enrolled children. If you previously used ParentVUE for an older sibling, you should already have an account. If so, please use your previous username and password. If you have any questions or misplaced your login information, please contact Anne E. Moncure Elementary for a new activation key. Finally, if you know of a student who has not registered for school, please help us spread the word. As a reminder… students missing required medical and/or registration information will not be assigned a teacher until all records are completed. Thanks for your understanding.

Come Volunteer at Field Day June 14th!

Come volunteer your time at this year’s FIELD DAY Thursday, June 14th. Mrs. Barr and Mr. Baker, our awesome PE teachers, need help with field day this year. Please consider helping if you can spare a couple hours. They need help with set-up, clean-up, helping the kids at the different stations and ice pop donations. January Teacher/Staff Appreciation Lunch

We have a “Souper” group of Teachers and Staff this year and are showing our appreciation on Wednesday, January 17th *RESCHEDULED TO WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 24TH!  With the cold winter weather finally here, we are hosting a Soup and Chili Luncheon that we would LOVE to have you help us with!  Please click our sign-up link and you’ll find several different options for you to choose from to donate.  We have plenty of room for crock pots.  Thank you for supporting our Teachers and Staff at Moncure Elementary!

After School Yoga Registration Open!

The Moncure PTO is proud to offer Kidding Around Yoga to our students as a part of our after school programs. Classes for grades K-2 are on Mondays for 4 weeks starting on October 2nd. Classes for grades 3-5 will be held on Tuesdays for 4 weeks starting October 3rd. Classes will run from 4-5pm. Students need to bring a yoga mat or beach towel. You can register and pay below.

It’s Been a Seuss-tastic Week for our Teachers and Staff

The PTO has busy this week showing the teachers and staff at Moncure just how much our families appreciate them with a Seusstastical celebration.  Our kids have been bringing their teachers special treats all week and the PTO has had a special surprise planned everyday

On Monday the PTO set up a Hop on Pop Gourmet Popcorn Bar.  Tpopcorn barhere were so many choices, everyone was able to find one, two or eight flavors the love.snack dayhat doors

Tuesday the teachers and staff got a nice snack from PTO and their students. The classroom doors looked great filled
with Cat in the Hats and sweet notes from students.

We had our Dr. Seuss Lunch Wednesday and we had such a GREAT turnout of treats to eat! From Roast Beast sliders to Poodle Noodles, Grinch Salad to Cat in the Hat Fruit
seuss lunch 1Kabobs, Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cherry Drops to the Lorax cookies….it was quite Whoville Feast! The teachers were also given their giftbag today that had a Dr. Seuss bookmark, Truffula tree pen, notepad and ‘bookworms’ to go along with the great many books the students brought in for their classrooms.

The teachers and staff were able to satisfy their sweet tooth with specially wrapped chocolate bars from the PTO and their favorite treats from their students.

Our week ended with a special thank you gift to all the teachers and staff and the students brought in their teacher’s seuss choc barfavorite drink.

We have such a wonderful staff here at Moncure and it is great to be able to appreciate them for all that they do! The PTO ♥’s our Moncure teachers and staff!


Moncure Spring Clothing Sale

See you Saturday, February 27th!

The Moncure Clothing Sale is the oldest and largest gently used sale in Stafford, where you can find everything you need from baby to teen.  You will find strollers, highchairs, clothes, shoes, toys, DVDs, electronics, kids bedding, books, accessories, furniture and much more.  The Clothing Sale proceeds go to benefit the students of Moncure Elementary.

Clean out your closets and make some money!  Become a consignor and sell your items.  We have the highest consignor percentages in the Stafford/Fredericksburg area!!!

Our volunteer shifts will be posted Saturday, January 23rd at 10:00 am.  You only need to work a short 2 hour shift and you’ll get to shop a day early.  If you’re a consignor and a volunteer, you earn even more money back, an extra 10-15%!  

Snow Date: Saturday, March 5th

Here’s how the sale times will look on February 27th:
7am-11am – regular sale
11am-12pm – Consignor pickup for items that you don’t want to be discounted
12pm-12:30pm – closed
12:30pm-2pm – discount sale period (ALL items 50% off)
2pm – all items not sold will be donated (no additional pickup period)

We Came Close to Meeting Our Fun Run Goal!

We are very excited and hope you are too!  We almost reached our goal of $20,000. We received 100% of all cash and check donations and 85% of online donations!!!  The PTO is raising funds to purchase 50 more Chromebooks so that every classroom has 5 Chromebooks.  We also pay for three amazing assemblies each year, the DARE program, Student of the month awards, STEM lab projects, special requests/needs from grade levels and Teacher Conference meals.  Every student received a FREE t-shirt to wear during the Run and enjoyed a snowcone after.  

We had several kids reach their $150 goal, so they can have Pizza with the Principal.  Click here to see all the fun we have in store for our Moncure kids.
