Please consider helping if you can spare a couple hours. They need help with set-up, clean-up and helping the kids at the different stations. This is a great way to have a lot of fun and help your school. You can sign up through the link at http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0a4faaac2ca2fd0-field1.
Due to all the support our students received from their family and friends, we met our Fun Run goal and planned a special surprise for Field Day. We have purchased two soccer goals and will have a station at field day called Score on the principal!!! The students will be able to enjoy the goals for many years and we will take them with us to the New Moncure.
The PTO has busy this week showing the teachers and staff at Moncure just how much our families appreciate them with a Seusstastical celebration. Our kids have been bringing their teachers special treats all week and the PTO has had a special surprise planned everyday
Tuesday the teachers and staff got a nice snack from PTO and their students. The classroom doors looked great filled
with Cat in the Hats and sweet notes from students.
We had our Dr. Seuss Lunch Wednesday and we had such a GREAT turnout of treats to eat! From Roast Beast sliders to Poodle Noodles, Grinch Salad to Cat in the Hat Fruit
Kabobs, Thing 1 and Thing 2 Cherry Drops to the Lorax cookies….it was quite Whoville Feast! The teachers were also given their giftbag today that had a Dr. Seuss bookmark, Truffula tree pen, notepad and ‘bookworms’ to go along with the great many books the students brought in for their classrooms.
The teachers and staff were able to satisfy their sweet tooth with specially wrapped chocolate bars from the PTO and their favorite treats from their students.
Our week ended with a special thank you gift to all the teachers and staff and the students brought in their teacher’s favorite drink.

Every student received a FREE t-shirt to wear during the Run and enjoyed a snowcone after.

We’ll have some treats and fun activities for the kids, samples of our new Bear Wear and information about Back to School Night.
Thank you to everyone who came out to our BINGO Night/Silent Auction. We had a great turnout and even had to order extra pizza! One lucky winner ended the night by winning the “golden ticket” to have lunch with our Principal, Mr. Machi. A huge thank you to Mr. Machi and Ms. Norton for calling the BINGO numbers. They did an amazing job!
We also sold every auction item and raised over $800. We’re looking forward to continuing this new tradition next year.
Please support the business who generously donated our BINGO prizes and Silent Auction items. Support them as they have supported our school! Find out more about contacting these businesses here.
